Urbandale’s award-winning Jazz Condos offer the benefits of townhome living with the low maintenance of a condo lifestyle
When you have something that works you don’t want to change it, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t include a few tweaks to make it even better. That’s the thinking behind Urbandale Construction’s upcoming release of its popular and award-winning Jazz Condos in Riverside South.
“There are some exciting changes coming,” says Melissa Boudreau, Urbandale’s marketing communications manager.
First introduced more than a decade ago, Jazz Condos are multi-level stacked suites that offer the benefits of townhome living — plenty of square footage, private entry and private garage/driveway — with the low-maintenance of a condo lifestyle.
They haven’t been available for more than a year, but Urbandale is bringing them back to Riverside South with a new community of 68 condos in eight blocks, some fronting onto greenspace, located at Earl Armstrong Road and Ralph Hennessy Avenue, which is within walking distance of the planned community core and proposed Trillium Line LRT station.
They’ll feature the same Duet, Acapella and Harmony floor plans as before, ranging from 1,402 to 2,037 square feet, but these versions will offer even more flexibility to suit just about every lifestyle. The first release will include a limited number of very special expanded suites.
“We took a look at the floor plans, listened to feedback and made improvements,” says Boudreau, who is such a fan of Jazz Condos that she bought a Harmony herself. “In the past, all of our floor plans were really well received. We’ve just made minor tweaks and added options,” such as splitting the main bathroom in two for both a private master ensuite and a powder room for visitors in the Duet and Acapella suites.
The most visible change is the new modern exterior elevation. And then there are the windows. There are more of them, particularly on the rear, and they’ve been upgraded. Jazz Condos are known for their dramatic two-storey windows and these new condos will feature Urbandale’s Zone 3 Arctic-rated triple-pane windows, which means greater comfort, better energy efficiency and reduced street noise. The upgraded windows are one of the features included with Urbandale designating these Jazz Condos to be ENERGY STAR® Certified, aligning with their townhomes, bungalows and singles that are 20 per cent more energy efficient than a house built to code and evaluated, inspected and labelled by a third-party energy advisor.
All suites will come with six appliances (stainless steel in the kitchen), quartz counters throughout, hardwood in all main living areas, including the kitchen, and will be electric car charger ready.
Jazz will launch in the coming weeks with a two-bedroom starting at $338,900 and the first closing dates in late 2019.
Those who register with Urbandale will have the first opportunity to buy, before the condos are released to the public. Register at urbandaleconstruction.com.
